A total of 12 tapes were uncovered, dating between 1989 and 1991. According to Musgrove’s inventory list, at total of 15 unheard songs were found on the tapes, some of which had previously been teased, or have had snippets leaked.

Some songs have been completely unheard of.

Among those unreleased songs is a collaboration with LL Cool J titled ‘Truth On Youth’ – earlier this year the rapper confirmed they had recorded music together but that the songs weren’t “good enough” to be released.

… According to The Hollywood Reporter, it appears that outside of Jackson’s estate, it seems Musgrove would be the only one to hear the tapes. Musgrove and his attorney approached Jackson’s estate with the tapes, but noted that the late King Of Pop’s estate declined to purchase the tapes.

How one Ventura County stay-at-home dad came into possession of material recorded between 1989 and 1991 by the King of Pop.

When former California Highway Patrol officer turned stay-at-home dad Gregg Musgrove started “treasure hunting,” the 56-year-old certainly never imagined he’d end up with a king’s bounty — the King of Pop, that is.

A trove of cassette and DAT tapes containing unreleased Michael Jackson tracks were found in a storage unit deep in the San Fernando Valley. Musgrove’s journey to the tapes began when an associate contacted him about a storage unit he’d recently bought in Van Nuys. The unit once belonged to Bryan Loren, a music producer and singer (whose current whereabouts are unknown, according to Musgrove).

By Elizabeth Scarlett

Liberty Games analysed over 6,500 songs and chart records to reveal the most popular artists in history, and Madonna came in at number one

According to Liberty Games, Madonna is the most popular artist of all time. This isn’t just some daring statement made by an overly-enthusiastic Madonna mega fan though, this result was conceived from hard analysis.

From analysing over 6,500 songs from the top 100 Billboard charts, starting from 1959 all the way to the present day, the games retailer produced a list ranking the most successful performers in history.

Their popularity was ranked by how many times they appeared in the chart, with Madonna holding the highest amount on a total of 34 times.

The King of Pop could soon be belting out new tunes, his family says.

“There is more music to release. They have music. He left behind music,” Michael Jackson’s brother Tito told The Sun.

Tito said the Jackson family has plans to record a new studio album, their first since 1989, and that they hope to record a new track featuring previously unknown material from their brother, one of the most celebrated artists in history, who died in 2009.

Dionne Warwick Says There’s No More Classic Or Iconic Artists: ‘Not Yet’ (2019)

Dionne Warwick Says There’s No More Classic Or Iconic Artists: ‘Not Yet’ (2019)

I absolutely agree with her.

Most of the singers and bands today – those under the age of 40 – are putting out absolute dreck. I am willing to come right out and say it like it is, but Warwick, God bless her, is trying to dance around the subject and be more polite about it.

I seriously doubt 50 years from now, many people will feel nostalgic for, or even remember, most of the bands and singers who are releasing music today, or remember most of the songs from the early 00s to the present, because most of the music from around the early 2000s to the present has been total and utter garbage.

“THAT’S NOT, AS YOU GUYS WOULD SAY, ‘THROWING SHADE,'” WARWICK TELLS ESSENCE.

by Danielle Young

She’s baaaack! Dionne Warwick, the songstress who has given us 58 years of chart-topping classics such as “What The World Needs Now” and “Say A Little Prayer,” ain’t done yet. The singer has returned with a new album, aptly titled, She’s Back [read more about Warwick here].

….Musical OG, Dionne Warwick stopped by ESSENCE to talk about her new album, “She’s Back,” but spilled the tea on how today’s music will yield no classics.

Leaving Neverland – the Controversial New Documentary about Singer Michael Jackson (2019)

Leaving Neverland – the Controversial New Documentary about Singer Michael Jackson (2019)

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve no doubt seen by now the links to news stories and reviews to a new documentary about singer Michael Jackson, which alleges that Jackson molested boys.

The documentary, released in January 2019, is entitled “Leaving Neverland.” Some Michael Jackson fans are quite upset, insisting that Jackson was innocent.

I for one am agnostic on the topic.

While I do think Jackson’s frequent contact with underaged boys (he seldom hung out with girls), and that he had “sleepovers” with them, complete with alarms that would be tripped if someone tried to approach the bedroom down the hall he shared with those boys, was very strange and inappropriate, I am not sure if Jackson was performing sexual acts with any of these boys or not.

Edit: though now, as of March 2019, after having pondered more about this, having read more articles, both pro and con, and knowing what I know about how many churches cover up and deal with victims of child sex abuse; and in the course of studying  how pedophiles operate in a church context, I learned about how pedophiles groom their child targets and the adults in the children’s lives…

I therefore now lean towards thinking that unfortunately, Jackson probably was a pedophile. This does not make me happy.

I would rather Jackson be innocent, since he was a fixture of my childhood, but I have to be realistic and honest and not shy away from the truth just because the truth is uncomfortable.

I would hope that Jackson was not guilty. I have fond memories watching Jackson perform on various televised awards shows or in music videos in the early to mid 1980s.

Jackson was an electric performer, and he had what so many singers after 2000 lack: a stage presence.

If it is true that Jackson was acting inappropriately with children, that does tarnish his memory for me, the music, and it’s difficult to watch those classic videos – “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” and “Thriller” at this point.

What follows below are links to different articles about the “Leaving Neverland” documentary, and links to Michael Jackson related sites that discuss Jackson’s alleged pedophilia.
