George Michael’s Estate Responds To Similarities of His ‘Freedom’ to Lorde’s ‘Solar Power’
Many music fans noticed a striking similarity of Lorde‘s new song “Solar Power”, to George Michael‘s “Freedom! ’90″.
After the 24-year-old singer dropped her song, Twitter users pointed out how the two songs sounded the same, especially in the chorus.
“I’m not going to sit here and be quiet about the fact that Lorde’s new ‘Solar Power’ song’s chorus has the EXACT same chords as George Michael’s ‘Freedom’ – it’s so blatant,” one fan pointed out.

Following the release of “Solar Power,” many people on social media noted that Lorde’s new single sounded similar to George Michael’s “Freedom ’90.”
On June 18, the George Michael Estate released a statement on the late singer’s official website giving Lorde the estate’s blessing.
