Sci-fi, fantasy and superhero fans with some extra cash burning a hole in their pockets will have a chance to take home some iconic genre items next month.

Julien’s Auctions will debut its Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens: Contemporary Hollywood Auction from December 14-17.

auctionETheadThe centerpiece of the auction will be an original ‘hero’ mechanical animatronic head used in the 1982 classic E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, created by Carlo Rambaldi.

A full animatronic E.T. model previously sold at Julien’s Auction for $2.5 million, with this original head expected to fetch between $800,000 and $1 million.

There will also be items from the Marvel Cinematic UniverseDC Comics movies, Harry Potter and much more going under the hammer.

One of the other top-dollar items expected to fetch in the mid-six-figures is the Model B-9 ‘The Robot‘ from the iconic 1960s TV series Lost in Space.

This is one of just two full-scale models of the robot that was made for the show’s three season run, which is still functional and one of the rarest artifacs from the era.

There will also be a number of items going on the block as part of Warner Bros.’ 100 year anniversary celebration, including a film-worn costume from 1992’s Batman Returns.
